So there was no maker’s list price or government price for sermorelin.
An online sermorelin quote is set by a clinic or pharmacy, not by the maker of an approved product.
What would I actually pay?
Request a written total for the proposed care, naming each charge. Ask how long that quote covers and what would make it change.
A useful question is: what would I owe at the start, while care continues, and if I stop?
What belongs in the quote?
Ask whether it covers the visit, the medicine, tests, supplies, delivery and follow-up. Ask whether there is a membership charge.
Then ask about repeat charges, a commitment period, cancellation and refunds. These are questions to ask, not charges every service necessarily has.
What can I ask about insurance?
Ask the prescriber or pharmacy for the full medicine name, its strength and the form it comes in. Give those details and the reason for treatment to your insurer. Ask separately about the visit, tests and medicine.
Would the service bill your insurer? Would you pay first? What happens if your insurer refuses payment? Request a written answer.
What about a health spending account?
As of September 26, 2026, the tax rules allowed these accounts to pay for medical care. A cost just to improve general health did not qualify.
For weight-loss costs, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the federal tax agency, requires treatment of a specific disease that a doctor has found you have.
HSA expands to “health savings account”. A flexible spending arrangement is shortened to FSA. Ask whoever manages your account whether this bill qualifies and what records would show that.
Money goes into these accounts before tax and is set aside for medical costs.
Ask whether a note from your doctor stating the disease and reason for treatment is needed. Do not assume that a particular sermorelin bill qualifies.
